Everyone is Welcome
The Bible is like a compass...
If we learn to read it and use it, it will provide clear direction throughout our life and keep us moving forward. At Open Door Baptist Church, we are teaching men, women, boys, and girls to use the compass of God's Word as a regular part of their daily lives. Through solid, relevant-for-life sermons, Sunday school lessons, and Bible studies, the issues of life are regularly brought alongside the scriptures in our weekly worship services and teaching sessions. Add to this, preaching through the time-honored King James Bible, gospel music and familiar hymns that have been the mainstay of the church down through the ages, and a friendly atmosphere to encourage you to keep coming back, and you'll soon see why Open Door Baptist Church just may be God's place for you!
~ Pastor Norman Aabye
"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"
~ Phil. 3:14
The Apostle Paul, wrote this to the Philipian church. He had found true satisfaction in a
life lived in knowing God in a personal way through His son, Jesus Christ. If you are looking for direction in your life,
or for your family, consider Open Door Baptist Church.
Who We Are...
After serving the LORD at the River Valley Baptist Church in Ansonia, Connecticut as the founding pastor for 18 years, the LORD called Pastor Norman Aabye and his wife, Priscilla, to Saegertown, PA to begin a new phase in their life of service for God.
In 2006, they founded C.A.R.E. Ministries, a specialized mission work among numerous nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and Alzheimer care units in Northwestern PA and Northeastern OH. The Aabye's have operated their ministry out of Open Door Baptist Church since that time.
In 2012, when a vacancy occurred in the pastorate at the church, Pastor Aabye was voted in as the new pastor. Bringing over 25 years of pastoral and evangelistic ministry experience, Pastor Aabye's emphasis is on solid, biblical teaching and preaching with a view towards personal growth in the lives of believers.
Pastor Aabye is a 1987 graduate of Colonial Hills Baptist College in Danbury, Connecticut. The Aabye's have one son, Jason, who pastors in Kentucky.
