Meet Our Pastor

Although born and reared in a Christian home, I was not saved until I was eighteen years old. On June 19,1988 after being confronted with my personal need for a Savior, I went forward at a night service and gave my life to Christ.

After high school I attended Pensacola Christian College from 1988 to 1991 and majored in Bible.

After leaving PCC, I married my lovely wife Heather in 1992 and started attending a local church Bible institute. I completed my degree in 1995 with a major in Bible.

God called me to preach in 1993 while attending the Bible institute.

I was the Youth Pastor at River Valley Baptist Church for eight years under my father, Pastor Norman Aabye. In 2000 I was ordained into the gospel ministry and became the Assistant Pastor.

In 2001 God called my family to plant a church in the small city of Naugatuck, Connecticut. While pastoring there for almost three years we saw the church grow, people get saved, and lives changed for the glory of God.

In 2005 the Lord called us once again and we moved to Venango, Pennsylvania. I began pastoring Open Door Baptist Church. Our family has found a place here in the community and with our awesome church people.

During this time the Lord has blessed us with six children - Laura, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Alyssa, Meagan, and Emily. They are a great joy to us.

My life verse is Psalm 119:9 which says, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word." Truly it is the Word of God that does it's work in our lives.
